What will I receive for my membership?
Once your membership is paid you will gain immediate access to our team forum. The forum is where all the discussion and voting happens and is the central ‘hub’ for the team.
You will also receive a welcome letter in the mail which will include your personalised membership card for season 2013. The membership card is how members can identify themselves to the team at race events and gain access to our paddock and team function area. No pass? No entry.
What happens when the 2,000 members is reached?
The membership will be closed off for the year.

Who will be the driver?
The driver will be selected from the team membership. Any paid member will be able to nominate themselves for the position of driver. Members are required to have their CAMS PC or NC license prior to nomination. Once the nominations are complete, the team’s members will each cast a vote on who they think should represent our team as driver in 2013. Voting for the driver happens for each round of the season. Once the voting has closed, the majority rules.
What happens if the driver crashes the car in the first round – is that the season over?
No, the team’s budget allows for the car to be damaged heavily multiple times. Hopefully this isn’t the case, but motorsport being motorsport, anything can happen. However, it is fully expected that with normal racing incidents that the team’s budget will be enough for the team to complete the entire 2013 season.
What happens with the winnings / prize money?
Any winnings / prize money will go into the team’s funds pool. What is done with the prize money will be up to the members; again this will be voted on by the team members with a majority rule.
What is the structure of the team?
Season 2013 will be a new beginning for the race team as it’s launched in it’s own entity.
Just $39? Will I have to pay any more?
No, to join the team for the 2013 season costs just $39. That is the only cost that a member needs to pay.
Does my membership include entry to any race meets?
No, the membership fee goes purely to funding the leasing of the car for the 2013 season. Members that wish to go to the race meets to see the team’s car race will be required to purchase their own tickets to the event.
Does the Aussie Racing Cars factory know about My Race Team?
Yes, team founder Sean Slater met with the guys at the Aussie Racing Cars factory and introduced himself and the concept to them. The guys loved the idea and pledged their support without hesitation. They are as excited about the concept as Sean is.
Do I have to live in Australia to be a member?
No, members can join the team from anywhere in the world. We have members in the New Zealand, USA, UK, Belgium and Denmark who have joined the team.Because we are a Internet based team, anyone can participate in the forums and voting and feel as much a part of the team as if they were living here in Australia.
What happens after 2013?
My Race Team will be back in 2014, more news regarding the season next year will be made available soon. Our Season 2013 members will get first right of renewal.
