The tight and twisty rural layout features a range of slow corners which combine to make Winton the slowest circuit on the V8 Supercar calendar. A total of 12 corners linked by short straights, it was lengthened by a kilometre in 1997. With so many slow corners, having a car that can be kind to its rear tyres is crucial, particularly in the longer races.

More information regarding My Race Team at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 will be posted closer to the event.
North Queensland’s biggest sporting event is back with the V8 Supercars SucrogenTownsville 400 July 6-8 2012. See the V8 Supercar heroes as they fight for this prized podium position. This signature track will also host the Dunlop Series, Carerra Cup, Formula Ford and Aussie Racing Cars.
The street circuit race offers three days of entertainment on and off the track. The 2012 Disney Pixars CARS truck tour returns and this year Mack the transporter is joined by his famous friend Lightening McQueen!

Welcome everyone to My Race Team – the world’s first 100% community run racing team.
The concept behind the team is to allow motorsport fans to get a taste of what it is like to run a race team. By being involved in the decision making process each member gets a say in the direction and future of the team.
The team will also be able to support and help a driver ‘crack’ the big time.
It’s an exciting project for everyone involved and I can’t wait for next year to roll around and see our car mixing it with the rest of the cars in the Aussie Racing Cars series.
The guys at the Aussie Racing Cars factory have been very supportive of the team concept and I’d like to extend a personal thank you to Brad and James who both spent time with me when I visited the factory a few weeks ago.
We’re now fully launched and taking memberships for season 2012.
